Cadbury World

As a lover of chocolate, a trip to Cadbury World sounds like a dream. It is somewhere I have wanted to go for a long time. I had actually been before a long time ago (so long I don’t remember anything about it), but my parents had never been particularly positive about the trip. I also wasn’t in a desperate rush to visit Birmingham, and so it had seemed unlikely that I would get to Cadbury World any time soon. However, as Birmingham is a useful midway point between the north and south (who knew?!) it became a natural meeting point for me and James, meaning that Cadbury World was very much on the agenda last weekend.

Bristol Balloon Fiesta

Thursdays on social media are all about throwbacks – and with the 37th Bristol International Balloon Fiesta starting today, I can think of no better time to reminisce… My first experience of the balloon fiesta was last year, when I had no idea what to expect and to be perfectly honest couldn’t really see how hot air balloons would keep me entertained for that long. However, I had a great time and am really disappointed I won’t be there again this year!

Being a tourist in your own city

Not nearly enough people have acted the tourist in the city in which they live. Main attractions are always brushed off as “I’ll get round to it” or “I can do it whenever I like”, and then when suddenly you find you are moving elsewhere, they either get done in a last minute rush as part of a bucket list, or never visited and you spend the rest of your life wondering why. Since exams finished a few weeks ago, pretty much everyone I know has been going out in a frenzy trying to pack in as many sights and experiences as possible before we leave York. Whilst this is great, and means some people have had a lot of fun, it is also a very expensive way to try and fit everything in.
